My name is Mary Sand and I am a visual artist based in Sacramento, CA.
What collectively moves us? A temporary experience, a new avenue for connection, or maybe an illusion that inspires curiosity. We are complex beings in all our light and darkness, and the spectrums of color within. Design has the ability to influence how we can thrive together, and attempt to coexist with the natural environment.
Mary Sand, artist from the Sacramento Delta and founder of Marry Contrary Design & Decor, works in many mediums, and most notably has found her passion working with botanicals and organic materials, designing installations and experiences.

About my traffic utility box design:
This design was created in layers, and with the help and artistic mind of Tobi Liston (see Instagram link above). Mary and Tobi have recently begun sharing an art studio space together, where they adorned the exterior of the building with a colorful landscape and space inspired mural. This mural was photographed and shown in the back layer of the box design. The second layer on the design was added using the sculptural botanical elements of Mary's work.
