Hello, my name is Haley Borchers, also known as Haley Jane and Im from Walnut Creek, California, and grew up in Sacramento, California. I am a single mom, painter, designer, muralist, and ceramic artist from Sacramento.
I am an artist that loves to be inspired and to also inspire others. I’ve done a whole series with maps and inspirational quotes. My inspirational series of paintings was called "Happiness is not a Destination". That no matter your struggle you can let go and find joy inside yourself. Happiness doesn’t come from possessions, money, places or people, it comes from within. I want to create art that will inspire. That when you look at my art you carry a reminder with you throughout the day with the quotes I've used on my art. Words are powerful and if they are seen in places people often attend I think it resonates in their daily lives.

I wanted to create something that the people in Sacramento could walk by and see the quotes and remember to be happy regardless of the obstacles they are facing. That happiness is not a destination, place or person, that it is found within and is a choice.
The maps in my art are supposed to represent how our lives are like a map and we all have to find ourselves, who we want to be and where we want to go in life. Ultimately we all have to find happiness. Some people go their whole lives never realizing that happiness is a choice. That no matter what we are going through we still have the choice to not let our troubles control us.
