Hello, my name is Sandra Hernandez and I’m from Sacramento, CA.
Sandra Hernandez’s work is focused on the nostalgia of childhood toys. Some toys are time capsules of the cultural context, others are simply memorable because they are tied to a child’s unique interests. Children create and project their sense of self onto the toys that they play with. So in many ways, the toys become a part of who that child is. Hernandez’s paintings remind us of the world we explored as children and our ability for boundless imagination.
